APHIS NOTIFIES LIVE ANIMAL SHIPPERS OF FISCAL 2002 PROCESSING FEES

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has published its list of user fees charged for quarantine and inspectional services for fiscal 2002.

APHIS is authorized to assess these user fees under the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990 to help compensate for its inspectional and import- and export-related services.

For instance, APHIS will access a fee of $480 per inspected commercial vessel; $4.75 per truck arrival or $95 for calendar year 2002 decal; $7 per loaded railcar arrival or a $140 prepaid arrival fee for each loaded railcar during fiscal year 2002; and $65 per inspected commercial aircraft.

User fees for live animal quarantine vary, based on type of animal, size and other care services required. For a complete list of fees, access on-line: http://frwebgate4.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/waisgate.cgi?WAISdocID=08100019841+3+0+0&WAISaction=retrieve .
