APL ADDS THIRD WEEKLY TRANSATLANTIC SERVICE

APL ADDS THIRD WEEKLY TRANSATLANTIC SERVICE

   APL has introduced a third weekly transatlantic service, the South
Atlantic 2 (SA2), to link northern Europe with the U.S. Gulf and South
Atlantic.

   The service, also known as GUMEX, is a multi-carrier service operated by
Hapag-Lloyd, TMM and Tecomar. APL and other lines have space on the service.
   The new service will call at Antwerp, Belgium; Thamesport, U.K.;
Bremerhaven; Houston; New Orleans; and Charleston. The route also serves
Rotterdam (via Antwerp) and Hamburg (via Bremerhaven).
   The service features 12-day transits from Bremerhaven to Houston and New
Orleans to Rotterdam, and nine-day transit from Charleston to Antwerp. APL share space
with the other carriers on this service.
   It is APL’s second service linking North Europe and the U.S. Southeast.
   APL entered the transatlantic trade in March 1998.
