APL also joining MSCÆs U.S./South America service
APL is following its New World Alliance partner, MOL, by joining the weekly U.S. East Coast/East Coast South America service operated by Mediterranean Shipping Co.
The Singapore-based carrier is also ending its participation in the same trade on the Hamburg Sud service (which APL markets as Tango).
APL and MOL will join MSC’s service in mid-April, not long after Maersk ends it North America South America (NASA) service, on which they both took slots. The Danish line is instead joining Hamburg Sud’s loop.
MSC’s service calls at Norfolk, Philadelphia, New York and Baltimore in the United States, and Santos, Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Sao Francisco do Sul, and Salvador in South America.
