APL Logistics adds automobile executive

   APL Logistics said Tuesday it has hired an automotive logistics industry veteran to expand its auto-related business.

   Rinaldy Sudyatmiko has joined the company in Singapore as senior director of automotive business development. He's part of the APL Logistics Automotive unit, which provides supply chain management support to many of the world's largest carmakers and parts manufacturers.

   APL Logistics provides land transport and other supply chain services to the auto industry in Asia and North America. It also participates in two auto-related joint ventures, CMAL in China, and VASCOR in the United States.

   Sudyatmiko was general manager for logistics quality at Renault-Nissan Alliance Logistics Europe, based in France. He has more than 15 years of experience in automotive logistics, as a senior logistics manager in a large car manufacturer in Europe; as a general manager in a leading automotive 3PL joint venture in China; and as a consultant to automotive companies in Asia-Pacific.
