APL LOGISTICS APPOINTS SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM

   On the heels of its recent acquisition of two logistics companies, APL Logistics’ CEO Dick Metzler has announced senior appointments to his management team.

   Mike Gardner has been appointed chief operating officer. Prior to the GATXL acquisition by APL Logistics (APLL), Gardner had served as executive vice president and chief operating office for GATXL. Phil Van Wormer, has been named senior vice president, sales and marketing. Van Wormer joined APLL late last year.

   Greg Ott has been named president of See Change Technologoes, the technology arm of APLL and Fran DiMariawas appointed CEO of APL Direct Logistics, APLL’s internet fulfillment business.

   Other new APLL appointments reporting to Metzler are Todd Carter as senior vice president, strategic planning; Neal West, vice president/controller; Mike Moore, vice president/chief information office; Mary Nemick, director corporate communications; and Joe Nicosia, senior advisor.

   Reporting to Gardner will be Bill Villalon, president for the Americas and Rick Moradian, president for Asia/ Middle East.

   Reporting to Todd Carter will be Thomas Poulsen, director, business development and operations, Europe.
