APL Logistics, Con-way to expand OceanGuaranteed service
APL Logistics and trucking partner Con-Way Freight will add an eighth origin port in Qingdao, China, to their joint, time-definite OceanGuaranteed door delivery service within 25 days, William Villalon, vice president for global contract logistics and product development at APL told Shippers' NewsWire.
The two freight transportation companies are also exploring opportunities to begin the hybrid ocean-truck service on the East Coast after bringing shipments through the Port of Los Angeles in the program's first year, he said at the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals' annual conference in Philadelphia last week.
