APL, MOL EXPAND LATIN AMERICA SERVICES

   APL and MOL said Tuesday they will expand three Latin American services on which the two container lines cooperate and share vessels.

   The lines’ Manaus (CX-1) Service, linking Manaus with Panama; the Gulf Express (GEX), linking the gulf coasts of the U.S. with Mexico, and the North Caribbean Service (NCA), have been upgraded to weekly, fixed-day service.

   The three routings also offer faster transit times and increased capacity on the APL and MOL ships.

   Rotation for the Manaus services is Panama; Puerto Cabello, Venezuela; Manaus, Brazil; Puerto Cabello; and Panama. The service also offers two calls at Belem, Brazil every 21 days.

   The Gulf Express Service has been expanded to include calls at La Guaira, Venezuela, and at Rio Haina in the Dominican Republic.

   Rotation for the service is Houston; Altamira, Mexico; Veracruz, Mexico; Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Panama; Caragena, Colombia; Puerto Cabello, La Guaira; Rio Haina; and Houston.

   The North Caribbean Service will add a second vessel and calls at La Guaira and Puerto Sucre, Venezuela.

   The service calls Panama; Cartagena; La Guaira; Puerto Sucre; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Rio Haina; Panama; Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; and Panama.
