APL names Frentzel contract logistics VP
APL Logistics named David Frentzel vice president of contract logistics.
Frentzel, a 25-year veteran of international logistics management, will be responsible for the company's warehousing, deconsolidation and distribution.
Frentzel has worked for DHL Supply Chain and Exel Inc. in Japan and in the United States for the past five years. Prior to that he spent four years with Manugistics and 11 years in supply chain consulting.
In his new role, Frentzel will have operational responsibility for APL Logistics' global contract logistics services in the Americas, Asia, and Europe. He'll also be responsible for new business development.
Frentzel will be based at APL Logistics' Americas headquarters in Phoenix.
APL Logistics, a unit of Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines, said it is one of the top five managers of warehousing space in the United States and a developing contract logistics business in markets such as India and Latin America.
