APL’s average rate per FEU dropped to $2,401. The line’s volume rose 2 percent, to 448,400 TEUs in the same period. Year-to-date, average revenue per FEU is down 10 percent year-on-year, to $2,532, while volume has risen 8 percent, to 5.2 million TEUs.
“The increase in volume was mainly due to higher volumes carried on the intra-Asia trade lane,” NOL said in a statement. “The decline in average revenue per FEU was mainly due to lower rates in the major trade lanes.”
