APL reports no damage to cargo aboard grounded ship    APL said Monday that following inspection there is no damage to cargo aboard the 4,038-TEU vessel “APL Panama” that ran aground Dec. 25 near the approach of the Mexican port of Ensenada.
   The Singaporean carrier said that fuel and ballast water have been removed from the ship to lighten the load and to reduce the risk of oil pollution, and the ship’s bow has been successfully repositioned for the refloating of the vessel. Reefers are being powered by generators that have been installed on the ship, and there are ongoing efforts to move the ship to deeper water, APL said.
