APL SIGNS $23-MILLION CONTRACT WITH EQUANT

APL SIGNS $23-MILLION CONTRACT WITH EQUANT       Equant has signed a three-year, $23 million agreement to provide its Equant IP VPN services to APL and APL Logistics.
      Equant IP VPN solution will interconnect 180 APL and APL Logistics sites in 32 countries with the organization’s regional headquarters in Oakland, Calif.
   The software will integrate their voice and data communications over a single IP network. Equant IP VPN will allow the two businesses to prioritize critical traffic using Class of Service and Multi-Protocol Label Switching.
   APL is one of the world’s largest container transportation companies. APL Logistics provides supply-chain management services to retailers, manufacturers and other businesses.
