APM Terminals gets concession to operate Zeebrugge terminal

APM Terminals has obtained a concession to operate a container terminal on the Albert II dock south in the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium. The Danish port group has signed a letter of intent with the port authority of the Belgian port to move ahead with the project.

The Zeebrugge Port Authority said its decision to select APM Terminals “was partly based on investment commitments and the related opportunities for increasing the volume in the port.”

Contrary to Antwerp, Belgium’s largest container port, Zeebrugge is a seaport and has more than 15 meters (49 feet) of water depth.
