APMT names Nielsen Latin America head

   The global terminal operator APM Terminals has named Joe Nielsen, former chief financial officer of its Americas region as managing director for Latin America.
   APMT said the high-growth markets of Latin America “continue to be a focus area of the company’s investment planning.”
   Latin American container trade has been projected by Drewry to expand by 6.5 percent this year.
   The company operates container terminal facilities in Callao, Peru; Buenos Aires; and Itajai and Pecem in Brazil.
   “Recently announced investments in Latin America by APM Terminals exceed $2.5 billion, including construction of new facilities in Moin, Costa Rica; Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico and Santos, Brazil.” APMT said.
