Argentina construction booming

Argentinean President Nestor Kirchner said Tuesday that construction in his country is up 23.9 percent in May, compared to the same month last year.

Kirchner also said that for the first five months of 2006, construction had increased at a seasonally adjusted rate of 20.3 percent, according to a report in the Miami Herald.

Kirchner said the growth in construction is a sign that his country continues to recover from the economic crisis that reached its worst level in 2002.
