ARI hopes telematics will maximize fleet value

   ARI, a global fleet services provider specializing in car and truck fleets, has developed an implementation service around telematics solutions that offers various levels of support to help educate and provide insights to fleet managers.
   ARI is looking to provide a consolidated view of all fleet-related information in a single space and help its customers identify which telematics solution is the best fit based on that information, regardless of which vendor provides the telematics.
   The firm also announced its fully-managed telematics service designed to provide clients with new technologies and point them to aspects where they can improve efficiency.
   “Telematics technology has the power to capture thousands of data points from a single vehicle, on any given day,” said Tony Candeloro, director of client information systems at ARI.  “But without a means to aggregate or interpret the data, it becomes siloed and can fall inactive.”
   Candeloro said ARI’s telematics approach is deployed as three levels of service:

• Telematics Data Capture – This is a Web-based ARI insights system that can integrate data from existing telematics devices on a client’s fleet. The data is combined with existing vehicle and driver data to provide specialized alerts and reports tailored to the client’s needs and usage.
• Telematics Consulting Services – ARI has a team of technology advisors whose purpose is to monitor trends and success stories in the telematics field as well as investigate new offerings and vendors.
• Telematics Managed Solutions – This level of service combines the data capture and consulting services.

   ARI said these enhancements will help managers further identify cost-reduction opportunities, mitigate risk factors, optimize vehicle usage, reduce vehicle downtime, and automate existing manual fleet programs in their efforts to reduce costs and improve times.
