   Arigo, a Massachusetts-based provider of trade management technology, and Tompkins International, a supply chain consulting and implementation firm, have formed a partnership to provide a unified global trade management (GTM) application.
   “True global trade management, today, requires new operation strategies and a full integration of organizations, processes, and technologies throughout the end-to-end supply chain,” said Bill Ren, chief executive officer of Arigo. “We bring the technology needed to enable the new processes, and Tompkins provides the expertise for new strategies and processes to manage the supply chain issues in ever-changing global trade.”
   The companies said that GTM challenges stem for several key factors: “fluctuations in supply and demand, expanding global operations, operational complexity and risk, customer service needs, and total delivered cost targets.” These challenges, the companies said, often require applications that are beyond the methods of any single firm.
   “At this point, no single firm offers a total global trade management solution,” said Jim Tompkins, Tompkins International’s CEO. “Our joint solutions provide complete strategies and processes for not only true end-to-end visibility, but also for decision making with goods in motion, routing, customs, and the management of cash.”
   Both U.S. companies have offices located in China. Tompkins International also has offices in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
