ARROWSMITH IS APPOINTED CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF TIBBETT & BRITTEN

   U.K.-based international logistics service provider Tibbett & Britten Group plc has appointed Mike Arrowsmith group chief executive officer, with effect from May 1.

   He has taken over this role from John Harvey, chief executive since 1984, who will remain chairman of the group.

   Arrowsmith joined Tibbett & Britten as group finance director in 1999. Before that, he had extensive experience in the consumer healthcare and electronics industries, including seven years’ international management experience at senior level with SmithKline Beecham.

   He will be responsible for the financial and operating performance of Tibbett & Britten and the execution of business strategies. In the short term, he will also continue to act as finance director, until a successor has been recruited.

   Tibbett & Britten has 33,000 employees in 33 countries and its group revenues in 2000 were '1.5 billion ($2.3 billion).
