ARTEMUS aids Japan with advance filing

   The trade compliance software provider ARTEMUS Transportation Solutions has signed an agreement with Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System (NACCS) that allows ARTEMUS users to integrate with NACCS to meet Japan’s Advanced Filing Rules (AFR).
   The Japanese government implemented the regulations in March, in which a vessel operator or a non-vessel-operating common carrier intending to enter cargo into a port in Japan will have to electronically submit maritime cargo information to Japanese Customs no later than 24 hours before departure of the vessel from the loading port.
   “With regulations that differ with each country, this agreement and our software product will allow easy reporting for clients through one system, using just one input screen and minimize the work required to comply with Japan’s AFR,” said Steve Pniewski, president and chief executive officer of ARTEMUS.
