Both systems meet the requirements of Japan’s advanced filing rules for import cargo and the Panama Canal’s electronic data collection system filing regulations for cargo transiting through the canal.
The new tools have been added to Artemus’ existing solutions for non-vessel-operating common carriers, freight forwarders, and master carriers for cargo destined to Canada and the United States.
The Japan solution provides ocean carriers and forwarders with a way to submit cargo details in compliance with AFR regulations, which were implemented in March 2014. The software is a single data entry screen available on all internet-capable devices. The tool allows users to access and report information from preloaded sources for customer profiles, vessels and schedules, as well as tariff classifications, hazardous classifications and all additional cargo details.
The Panama Canal web-based solution is directly linked to the canal’s EDCS portal.
“We know different countries have different compliance regulations, but most countries require the same, basic cargo information,” said Steve Pniewski, president and chief executive officer of Artemus. “We knew we had to continue to provide a quick and simple single-screen entry system that eases the workload for our clients but allows them to continue to use the same work processes to report cargo through different countries customs systems.”
New and existing clients can be set up and transacting within 24 hours of sign up, Artemus said.
