ASF Intermodal expands to Louisiana

The full service intermodal drayage carrier and transportation broker opened a new terminal in New Orleans, La.    ASF Intermodal opened a new terminal in New Orleans, La., the company’s twelfth terminal in the United States.
   The full service intermodal drayage carrier and transportation broker’s new facility currently has two employees and ten drivers. ASF Intermodal expects to hire additional support employees and have 30 trucks operating from the new terminal within the next year.
   “New Orleans has been on our radar for some time. It fits our network and is a location in which our customers have expressed significant interest,” ASF Intermodal president Michael Smith said in a statement. “New Orleans will also serve as a flow through point for our trucks coming out of Mobile, Alabama and our Texas markets.”
   ASF Intermodal also has terminals in Mobile, Houston, Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte, Dallas, Fort Worth, Memphis, Norfolk, Savannah and Chicago.
