Asia/Europe loop drops Hakata calls    A New World Alliance-Grand Alliance joint Asia/Europe loops will drop two calls in September, according to a note Friday from Grand Alliance member Hapag-Lloyd.
   The AEX/NW1 loop, operated with 10 Hyundai Merchant Marine vessels, will drop calls in Hakata and eastbound calls in Kaohsiung, leaving a revised rotation of Gwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Thamesport, Singapore, Hong Kong and Hong Kong.
   According to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data, the service operates with 10 vessels with an average capacity of 8,384 TEUs. New World members APL and MOL, Grand Alliance member NYK Line and OOCL, along with Hapag-Lloyd and CMA CGM take slots on the service.
