The surcharge, $350 per TEU, is applicable from destination ports in Asia from Japan through Bangladesh.
The line also said it will seek to raise rates on the trades from Asia to Mexico and the west coasts of South America and Central America. The increases, effective from June 15, are $500 per 20-foot container and $1,000 per 40-foot or 40-foot high cube container.
