Aspect launches Web tool for oil shippers

   Aspect Enterprise Solutions, which provides trading and risk management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, has unveiled a new tool for shipping oil and petroleum products as part of its AspectCTRM Physical Operations Module.
   With the Shipment Workbench, users can schedule and nominate shipments, and monitor their status as they progress through their lifecycle. The software also offers support around demurrage claims, tracking and reporting of shipment losses, and load/discharge operations. Plans can also be made for the movements between transport modes such as ocean, rail, and truck.
   When it comes to oil and petroleum, Aspect said it integrates platforms for front office trading, middle office storage, and physical operations with the back office business and financial operations all in a single instance. The company promises support for third party applications, such as those from SAP and Oracle, as well as in-house solutions.
