AST&L names four for logistics honor
The American Society of Transportation and Logistics has posthumously given Mick Barr, a former Procter & Gamble logistics executive, its 2007 Distinguished Logistics Professional award.
Barr died suddenly earlier this year from an apparent heart attack.
Also honored by the professional society are Matthew Rose, chairman and chief executive officer of BNSF Corp.; Georgia Tech. professor John Langley; and Qian Yongchang, chairman of the China Communications and Transportation Association.
BNSF owns a major U.S. railroad and other logistics businesses.
Langley is professor of supply chain management at Georgia Tech and is known for his annual survey on trends in the third-party logistics industry.
