ATA COUNCIL PUBLICATION HELPS MOTOR CARRIERS ESTIMATE TAXES    The American Trucking Associations' national Accounting and Finance Council has released a publication that helps motor carriers estimate potential taxes they may encounter.
   The publication is 'Taxes on Motor Carriers: An Overview of the Typical Federal and State Taxes on a Generic 80,000-pound GVW Truck.' It is designed to illustrate the federal and state tax burden that may be imposed on a hypothetical 80,000-pound gross vehicle weight truck. The study offers estimates of taxes paid by less-than-truckload and truckload carriers under specific circumstances, whether on dedicated or random lanes.
