Atlantic Shipping signs agreement with Brazilian terminal
Atlantic Shipping has signed an agreement with Tecon Suape S.A., operator of the Suape Container Terminal in Pernambuco in Brazil, to commence a new service that will connect north and south Atlantic ports, the company said Wednesday.
The new service has a port rotation of Suape, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Boston.
It is expected to intensify Brazil's trading with the lucrative African Occidental Coast market and the U.S. mainland, the company said. The service officially began with the 294-TEU general cargo ship 'AS Africa' making its maiden call at the Brazilian terminal.
