ATLAS SIGNS MALAYSIAN AIRLINES
Atlas Air has signed Malaysian Airlines System to a long-term contract
for the wet-lease of one B747-400 freighter and three B747-200 freighters.
The deal makes MAS, one of Asia’s biggest cargo carriers, one of Atlas’
largest customers.
Separately, MAS still has not settled a dispute over missed payments
supposedly due to Virginia-based World Airways under a lease agreement covering an MD-11
freighter. A World official said the airline has re-marketed that MD-11 with a new
customer active in the transatlantic freight market, but has not settled the debt owed by
MAS.
