AutoInfo reports jump in earnings, revenue

   Logistics company AutoInfo Inc. reported second quarter profit of $596,000 compared to $383,000 in the same 2007 period.
   Revenue for the period was $45.2 million versus $26.2 million in the second quarter of 2007.
   Harry Wachtel, president of the Boca Raton, Fla.-based firm, said the 73 percent increase in revenue was ‘affected by higher transportation costs which reflect the increase in fuel prices and other factors. Our continued growth is the result of our 2007 investments in people and technology and the continued strength of our agent network. We will continue to leverage our business model and expand our broker and contract carrier agent networks during 2008 and will continue to explore expansion and growth opportunities.’
   AutoInfo Inc., operating through its Sunteck subsidiary, is a non-asset-based transportation services company, providing transportation capacity and related transportation services to shippers throughout the United States, and to a lesser extent, Canada.
