Autopsy: Americans found aboard Maersk ship died of heart failure

   The two American security officers found dead aboard the Maersk Alabama last week died of heart failure, Seychilles police said Tuesday in a news release.
   Autopsies on Jeffery Reynolds and Mark Kennedy have been completed, and police also noted possible heart attacks. 
   According to a statement, samples of urine, blood and stomach contents were being sent off for analysis to determine if any substances were consumed that may have caused heart failure.
   Maersk spokesman Kevin Speers said in a statement last week that police had found drugs and paraphernalia in the cabin where the men were found.
   Trident Group, the maritime security firm that employed the men, is still monitoring the situation, according to a statement posted on its website from president and chief executive officer Thomas Rothrauff. He asked for honor and respect for the men and their families.
   “Assumptions are being reported about this situation without the benefit of any fact-based information. These reports have been devastating to Mark and Jeff’s family, friends and SEAL brothers, and we urge them to cease,” Rothrauff said. “It is important to point out that, regardless of the final outcome, this single event should do nothing to diminish the brave and honorable service these men provided to their country at the expense of their family and friends. These operators have continued providing professional and dedicated service to the commercial world in a situation which demands focus, attention and the highest level of morality which they have provided without fail.”
