The carrier now provides truckload shipment to 25 states using its own fleet, with service to the other states provided through partner carriers. Averitt has a fleet of more than 1,500 trucks. The other 21 states are mostly southern and Midwestern.
Averitt said it has opened new facilities in Wichita, Davenport and Des Moines, Iowa, and Kansas City.
'The openings will allow Averitt to position more trucks in the new states to respond quickly to localized demand,' the company said.
