Baltimore gets $11 million to upgrade key port road    Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley said $11 million will be provided to upgrade Broening Highway, a road that serves as the gateway to the Port of Baltimore.
   The project will be part of the state’s $10.6 billion six-year capital transportation program covering fiscal years 2008-2013.
   A statement from the governor’s office said the project will improve access to Dundalk and Seagirt Marine Terminals.
   The state said about 2,000 trucks per day travel along Broening Highway to the terminals. O’Malley said the vast majority of containers leave the port by truck, not rail.
