Barber named UPS International president

   Jim Barber will become the next president of UPS International when Dan Brutto, a 38-year industry veteran, retires in April.
   Barber currently serves as the president of UPS Europe. He will also join the integrator’s 10-person management committee.
   Barber has worked at UPS for the past 28 years and in various Europe-based positions. UPS is currently finishing up the three-year expansion of its Cologne hub and continues to look into European growth opportunities, despite a failed attempt to acquire TNT Express earlier this year.
   “This is an exciting time,” UPS Chief Executive Officer Scott Davis said in a statement.  “We have a strong growth strategy, and we will continue to look for growth opportunities either organic or through acquisition. Jim will be very effective in expanding our international business while driving innovation, new services and improving profitability.” – Jon Ross
