Barge strikes bridge in Annapolis, Md.

   A 100-foot unmanned barge drifted and wedged itself between two support pilings under the Route 50 bridge near Annapolis, Md., yesterday.

   The Maryland State Police closed traffic to the bridge for about two hours until the barge was removed by the Coast Guard and the barge’s owner Langenfelder Marine of Stevensville, Md. The Coast Guard is investigating the incident.
