BA’s cargo up 2.2% in June; new Heathrow/Calgary service in December

BA’s cargo up 2.2% in June; new Heathrow/Calgary service in December    British Airways carried 405 million cargo ton-kilometers in June, up 2.2 percent compared to 396 million cargo ton-kilometers transported in the same month last year.
   BA’s overall load factor in the month increased 2.2 points to 73.4 percent.
   After the first three months of its financial year, BA has carried 1.22 billion cargo ton-kilometers, up 3.4 percent over 1.18 billion cargo ton-kilometers reported in the same year-earlier period. BA’s overall load factor in that time improved 2 points to 71 percent.
   In a separate development, the airline will Dec. 1 start a new route between London Heathrow and Calgary in Canada. The service will use a Boeing 777 aircraft five times per week. At the same time, BA will increase to eight flights per week its Heathrow/New York JFK service and raise to 10 flights each week its Heathrow to Sao Paulo in Brazil flights.
