The Washington-based firm will advise public and private-sector clients or provide lobbying services on issues such as:
' Border, aviation, maritime, port and supply chain security.
' Customs management and trade facilitation.
' Emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
' Major event management.
' Executive and VIP protection.
' Corporate security.
' Law enforcement training and anticorruption measures.
' Intelligence operations.
' Public health emergencies.
Basham, who retired as head of CBP in February after a long government career that included leading the Secret Service, has partnered with David Paulison, a former administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Joseph Hagin, former White House deputy chief of staff for operations, CCG announced Thursday.
Other members of CCG’s team with homeland security, defense and intelligence backgrounds include:
' Al-Martinez Fonts Jr., a former assistant secretary for the private sector at the Department of Homeland Security and current senior fellow at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
' Thad Bingel, Basham’s chief of staff and principal advisor at CBP and former assistant commissioner for congressional affairs.
' William Houston, who previously served as CBP director of policy and planning.
' Retired U.S. Coast Guard Vice Adm. Brian Peterman.
' David Carey, a former high-level CIA official.
' Mo McGowan, who served as assistant administrator for the Office of Security Operations in the Transportation Security Administration. Previous duties at the agency included general manager for cargo and supply chain security.
' Charlotte Bryan, ex-manager for the Federal Aviation Administration’s security regulatory program and assistant administrator at TSA for Transportation Sector Network Management, a position that involved liaising with aviation industry stakeholders. She also was general manager for commercial airports during her tenure at TSA.
' Steve Atkiss, a former chief of staff at CBP and former White House special assistant to the president for operations.
