Integrated heavyweight air-freight carrier BAX Global has named Joey
Carnes president of the company’s U.S. and Canada operations.
Carnes will be based at BAX headquarters in Irvine, Calif., and report
directly to BAX president and chief executive officer Robert Campbell.
Carnes will oversee 200 offices with more than 5,000 employees.
He comes from Fritz Cos., where he spent 12 years, most recently as
executive vice president of North America. Prior to that he spent eight
years at a trading firm called Jennings Co.
BAX’s North American operations have suffered of late from declining yields
and slower traffic growth.
