BDP Project Logistics opens second China office

BDP Project Logistics said Wednesday it has opened a dedicated office in Beijing, the company’s second in China.

   Headquartered in Singapore, BDP Project Logistics is a subsidiary of BDP International a global freight logistics and transportation management firms. BDP Project Logistics was established to provide customized services to support construction, mining, power generation and other infrastructure projects throughout the world, the company said. Other services include end-to-end materials management and tracking, freight negotiation and carrier cost maintenance, logistics process analysis and optimization, documentation, coordination of cargo inspections, inland transportation and scheduling, and supervision of heavy lifts, outsized and hazardous cargo, port operations and jobsite unloading and checking.

   The new office follows the establishment of a Shanghai office in January of this year.

   “China has many large and complex projects on the drawing board in areas such as construction, mining, power, oil, natural gas and chemical industries,” said Peter Huels, chief executive officer of BDP Global Project Logistics. “In addition a growing number of Chinese firms are successfully bidding for large scale projects in other emerging markets such as Africa and the Middle East.

   BDP Project Logistics in China has 10 specialists with expertise in heavy lift handling, breakbulk and dry bulk shipment, as well as customs compliance.
