BEA SYSTEMS CREATES WEB-BASED BILL OF LADING SYSTEM FOR NYK LINE
Nippon Yusen Kaisha has adopted BEA Systems Inc.'s WebLogic Server to provide a Web-based bill of lading system.
BEA systems, the San Jose, Calif.-based electronic business infrastructure software company, worked through Cambridge Technology Partners, a BEA systems integrator partner, to define build and implement the new system.
NYK took the bill-of-lading application from design to implementation in five months.
NYK and Cambridge said they plan additional applications for the BEA WebLogic Server, and the extended BEA WebLogic E-Business Platform, including order entry, freight management and personalization options for NYK's repeat customers.
