Bernuth Lines altering some Caribbean charges Bernuth Lines will implement rate changes for some of its Caribbean island destinations effective Sept. 30.
   Miami-based Bernuth is the latest carrier to announce an increase in its landing fee for St. Maarten, hiking the fee by $40 for 20-foot equipment and $80 for 40-foot and 45-foot equipment.
   In addition, Bernuth has scheduled rate increases for shipments between the U.S. and two separate sets of island nations.
   For St. Maarten, St. Vincent and Trinidad, the increase will be $100 per TEU, $200 per FEU, and $240 for 45-foot dry containers.
   For Grenada and St. Lucia, the increase will be $50 per TEU, $100 per FEU, and $120 for 45-foot dry containers.
