BERVEN JOINS EDWARD M. JONES & CO. AS VICE PRESIDENT    Leroy F. Berven has joined Seattle-based freight forwarder and customs broker Edward M. Jones & Co. as vice president.
   Berven comes to the firm with more than 20 years of experience in the forwarding and brokerage business. Prior to joining Edward M. Jones, he spent 13 years in management positions at Global Transportation Services in Seattle.
   He has also been active in the Customshouse Brokers and International Freight Forwarders Association of Washington State, the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, and the Pacific Coast Council of Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Associations. Berven has been a licensed customs broker since 1984.
   At Edward M. Jones, Berven will oversee import, export, warehousing and distribution programs, as well as several corporate administrative functions in Seattle.
   In addition to its Seattle office, Edward M. Jones has an office in Portland, Ore. Through its Fast Forward Airfreight affiliate, the company serves clients with worldwide expedited cargo service.
