BEST BUY PICKS STONEPATH FOR TIME-DEFINITE DISTRIBUTION

   Best Buy Co. Inc. has contracted with Stonepath Group, a provider of integrated logistics services, to handle the specialty electronics retailer's time-definite distribution of consumer music business, including 560 Best Buy stores and 1,200 Musicland locations nationwide.

   To manage Best Buy’s distribution business, Philadelphia-based Stonepath will use a new technology platform, Tech-Logis, a Web-based supply chain software system with transportation, warehouse management and order-fulfillment capabilities to manage Minneapolis-based Best Buy's distribution business.

   In its new three-year contract with Best Buy, Stonepath will use its new, 163,000-square-foot logistics center in Plainfield, Ind.
