Bibby opens new Ukraine training center    Bibby Ship Management has opened a new vessel crew training center and offices in Sevastopol, Ukraine.
   The $1.5 million center will use the latest Kongsberg simulators to deliver basic and advanced competence assessment programs to about 250 students during its first year, the company said.
   'Ukraine has a large pool of experienced seafarers working in the traditional and offshore sectors of our industry, so it made sense for us to establish our own manning and training center here and consolidate our longstanding presence in Eastern Europe,' said Adrian Ashley, Bibby's training development manager, in a statement.
   The company expects its graduate numbers to double in 2010 when it increases the regularity of its courses and makes additional offshore industry programs available. This is a key facet of Bibby's ongoing expansion plans for the Crimean peninsula.
