Big car carrier calls in New York The world's largest car carrier is scheduled to visit the Port of New York and New Jersey today.
   Faust, a car carrier trading for Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, was slated to tie up at Northeast Auto Terminal in Jersey City.
   The ship is 228 meters long and can carry 8,000 cars. Delivered in May, the Faust was built by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in Korea. It is the first delivery of three in a completely new series of large car truck carriers ordered by Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
   The ship's environmentally friendly design includes a double hull up to the main deck and two watertight decks, as well as employing technology to reduce emissions.
   The ship will next call Baltimore; Charleston, S.C.; and Brunswick, Ga.
