BISÆs McCormick heads to India

Newly appointed U.S. Commerce Undersecretary David H. McCormick will travel to India next week to participate in a meeting of the U.S.-Indian High Technology Cooperation Group.

The first day of the meeting (Nov. 1) will be a public-private forum in New Delhi that will focus on bilateral trade in biotechnology, nanotechnology and defense trade. 'The forum provides the opportunity for U.S. and Indian industry to identify barriers to successful high technology trade and recommend solutions for discussion during the government-to-government discussions on the following day (Dec. 1),' the Commerce Department said in a statement.

McCormick's itinerary includes visits to Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. He will meet with senior Indian government officials and representatives from Indian and U.S. industry at each stop.
