BizSlate’s small business supply chain cloud

   New York-based BizSlate, a software-as-a-service package provider for small and midsized businesses (SMBs), has launched its cloud-based enterprise resource planning system.
   BizSlate’s ERP is targeted at small distribution businesses’ management of customers, vendors, orders, inventory, and their overall supply chains. The company said it can reduce processing time by as much as 90 percent compared to alternative solutions – though this may be a comparison to manual processes.
   ERP has traditionally been the purview of larger entities like SAP, Oracle, and Sage, but the company said its focus doesn’t need this size or complexity because it is aimed at small businesses that need a more cost-effective choice.
   BizSlate’s ERP will be targeted at companies that typically have less than 100 employees and need multipurpose supply chain assistance. The company said the development of its ERP has come from feedback and input from SMBs.
   The company has raised a total of $370,000 to date from its Founder and Chief Executive Officer Marc Kalman and from BizSlate’s 19-company customer steering committee, each of which contributed about $18,000.
