Boardley leaves NYK for CMA CGM

Boardley leaves NYK for CMA CGM Experienced container shipping executive Tom Boardley on Tuesday resigned as head of NYK’s European liner operations after accepting a position with CMA CGM in the United Kingdom.

   Boardley, who has previously held senior roles at P&O Nedlloyd and P&O Ports, joined the Japanese company’s London-based branch, NYK Line (Europe) Ltd., in January 2005 as deputy managing director. He was promoted to liner managing director in February this year.
   CMA CGM said Boardley will join the company at the start of next year but wouldn’t confirm in what capacity. One position vacant is that of former CP Ships executive David Halliday, who recently quit as executive chairman of CMA CGM (UK) Ltd.
   Meanwhile, another CMA CGM newcomer will be Lars Kastrup, former Maersk Line area manager for France, who will join the French carrier at its Marseilles headquarters on Oct. 15 to take charge of its European agencies offices network.
