BOEHRINGER PICKS EXEL FOR PRODUCT SUPPORT

Exel, a provider of supply chain solutions, has reached agreement with Boehringer Ingleheim, a maker of human pharmaceuticals and animal health products, on a contract worth more than $18 million.

Under terms of the agreement, London-based Exel will provide storage, warehouse and pick and pack services for Boehringer Ingleheim's products.

Exel will work from its own health care, multiuser facility in Cherwell, U.K., which will handle 2,000 orders a month from Boehringer Ingleheim.

Also in the United Kingdom, Exel has taken delivery of 20 new 7.5-ton trucks to provide dedicated fleet service to Clarks International, a major shoes retailer. The delivery followed the renewal of Exel's existing contract with Clarks for an additional three years.

The contract calls for Exel to deliver Clarks products through the Southeast of England from Exel's facility in Barking.
