Boeing hulls waterlogged after Montana train derailment

   Three Boeing aircraft hulls being transported by Montana Rail Link derailed Thursday in Montana, spilling the aircraft components in the Clark Fork River, according to company spokesperson Lynda Frost, who was interviewed on local radio station KGVO.
   According to press reports, 737, 777 and 747 hulls were being transported, and only the 737 hulls ended up in the river.
   Frost said three cars carrying denatured alcohol and three cars carrying soybeans also derailed. No injuries were reported.
   The Boeing parts were being shipped by Spirit Aerosystems, who had manufactured the components in Kansas City, to Renton, Wash. In a statement Saturday, the company said it had been “working closely with our customer since we learned of the incident and continue supporting as needed.”
   The company continued, “The Spirit team’s resolve was tested with an even greater challenge as recently as the 2012 Wichita tornado. We are confident that, working together, we will overcome whatever challenges may be presented.”
