Boeing projects $2.1 trillion commercial plane market through 2024    Boeing predicted the market for commercial airplanes (passenger and freighter) will be $2.1 trillion for approximately 25,700 new airplanes, during the next 20 years.
   According to the U.S. airplane manufacturer, market demands will more than double the world’s commercial airplane fleet by 2024 to accommodate a predicted 4.8 percent annual increase in passenger traffic growth.
   Boeing said the largest market is projected to be the Asia Pacific region, with 36 percent of the $2.1 trillion total.
   Over the next 20 years, Boeing said airlines will take delivery of approximately:
   * 3,900 regional jets.
   * 15,300 single-aisle airplanes.
   * 5,600 mid-size twin-aisle airplanes.
   * 900 747-size or larger airplanes.
   These deliveries will result in a world fleet of more than 35,000 airplanes, Boeing said.
   “Single-aisle airplanes will dominate the market in the next 20 years because they allow airlines to offer more frequencies and increased nonstops in domestic service and short-haul international flights,” said Randy Baseler, Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president of marketing.
