Boeing to build long-range 777 cargo plane    Boeing said Monday it will add another freighter to its lineup with the introduction of a new 777 variant, scheduled to enter service in late 2008.
   The production freighter is based on the 777-200 Longer-Range platform, which can fly 5,200 nautical miles with a full payload.
   Boeing said the 777 will fly further than any other freighter and provide more capacity than any twin-engine cargo plane. The 777 will be able to carry a payload of 101 metric tons (220,000 pounds) and accommodate 27 standard pallets on its main deck and 10 in its lower cargo hold.
   The aircraft manufacturer said it is negotiating with potential customers for the cargo plane.
   Boeing produces a production model freighter of the 747-400. Other types of Boeing freighters in service are passenger planes converted by Boeing or other aviation houses.
